WFFT Week 2
Compared with last week and the troubles adjusting to this new way of life, I have really started to get into it and enjoy it! I feel really at ease with my job, things are much easier now that I have been doing it for 2 weeks.
We have 2 outings this week, one to Cha-Am for Sadie's 23rd Birthday, and one to Hua Hin for dinner and to see the nightmarkets. I love Hua Hin, there is so much happening there! It's a huge Scandinavian tourist destination and most tourists are tall and blonde hehe!
I have been doing bears and nocturnal animals for most of the time as I have been quite ill with nausea, diarrohea and cramps. If we feel sick at all, we are not allowed to work with any Primates, as we are so genetically similar we can pass many illnesses onto them, which could prove fatal and sweep through the Centre's whole population.
After 8 days of feeling like this, I become very faint and dehydrated and have to go to Sao Paolo Hospital for treatment. The doctor prescribes me antibiotics to kill the infection in my stomach, also electrolyte sachets, and anti cramping and nausea medication, and of course, rest.
After recovering from that, I have my day off at the resort again. I'm not taking any chances and being adventurous trying to see everything and get sick again.
